Description
The Kuntaur Area Council is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Community Development Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing community development programs that improve the quality of life for residents. This role involves working closely with community members, local organizations, and government agencies to identify needs, develop strategies, and mobilize resources for community development projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in community development, social work, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of community development principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct community assessments to identify needs and priorities.
- Develop and implement community development plans and projects.
- Facilitate community meetings and workshops to gather input and build consensus.
- Collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community development programs.
- Prepare reports and presentations on project progress and outcomes.
- Advocate for community needs and resources at local and regional levels.

- Proven track record of successfully managing community development projects.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in grant writing and fundraising for community projects.
