Description
The Kuntaur Area Council is looking for a dedicated Environmental Health Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and improving public health standards in the community by ensuring environmental health regulations are adhered to. This role involves conducting inspections, investigating complaints, and providing education and guidance on environmental health issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in environmental health or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental health regulations and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of food establishments, public facilities, and other environments to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Investigate complaints related to environmental health issues and take appropriate actions.
- Provide education and guidance to businesses and the public on maintaining health standards.
- Develop and implement health promotion programs and initiatives.
- Collect and analyze data on environmental health and report findings.
- Collaborate with other health and safety professionals and agencies.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation related to inspections and investigations.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in conducting health and safety inspections and investigations.
- Strong knowledge of public health principles and environmental health regulations.
- Ability to communicate complex health information clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Experience in developing and implementing public health initiatives.
